Beechwood House

Extension, internal alteration and landscape design to semi detached villa on the outskirts of Glasgow.

The vision

Our client wanted to alter their property to enhance the connection to what was a steeply sloping garden. With two young chidren, they wanted an easier transition to a tiered garden which would allow the children to play and the family to extend the dining into the garden.

The conclusion

Our approach involved internal alterations to form a new wc at ground level and a new kitchen dining extension, with concealed utility. The garden levels were reformed to create a level terrace allowing dining to take place either internally or externally. A clerestory window facing the sloping garden also allowed the family to supervise the children whilst they played. At first floor an existing dormer window was reformed to create a new balcony from the main bedroom overlooking to the gardens.
